Thick, weather-ready granite counters for patio kitchens and grill islands, with cutouts for grills, sinks and side burners.
Outdoor kitchens in Middle Tennessee face wide swings in weather: humid summers, cold snaps, heavy rain and direct sun. Granite is one of the few countertop materials that handles all of it, as it is a dense natural stone that resists heat and UV and does not fade. A honed or leathered granite top outside also gives a better grip and hides water spots better than a mirror polish, which is why we often recommend it for patios and grill islands.
Outdoor installs need more planning than indoor ones. The base has to be solid, whether it is block, stone or a frame, and the top needs correct overhangs and drainage. Grill, side burner, sink and drop-in cutouts must match the equipment exactly, and the stone should be sealed against stains from grease and food. We coordinate the details so the finished kitchen is ready for the first cookout.
Outdoor bases must be level and strong. We check block, stone and frame bases and flag issues before fabrication.
Grills, side burners, sinks and refrigerators have specific cutout sizes. We template from the real equipment or its specification sheet.
Honed and leathered finishes show water spots less and give more grip than a mirror polish.
Granite tolerates heat and sun well. We recommend thickness and sealing suited to outdoor use.
