Laser and digital templating that captures every wall, corner and cutout, so the granite arrives cut to fit the real room, not the plan on paper.
Templating is the step that decides whether granite fits. Walls are rarely straight, corners are rarely square and cabinets settle over the years, so a drawing from a tape measure is only a starting point. A proper template captures the real shape of every run, the position of sink, cooktop and faucet cutouts, the overhangs and the seam locations. In Nashville homes with older walls and settled floors, this step is especially important.
We template after the cabinets are set and level, using digital measuring tools and, where needed, physical templates of strips or paper for tricky shapes. We confirm sink and appliance models, mark outlet positions and review the layout with you before fabrication begins. Once you sign off, the template becomes the instruction for the fabricator, and a precise template means fewer surprises on install day. We also photograph the room and the cabinets on template day, so the fabricator can see exactly how the walls, windows and appliances sit around each run.
Templating happens once the cabinets are installed and level, because the stone must fit what is actually there.
Digital measuring captures angles, out-of-square corners and wall variations with far more accuracy than a tape alone.
Sink, faucet, cooktop and outlet positions are marked on the template and confirmed with the actual products.
We walk through the layout with you, including seams and overhangs, before it goes to fabrication.

You tell us about your counters and what you want to change, from a repair to a whole-kitchen install, and we set a visit that fits your day.
We visit, measure, check the cabinets, walls and plumbing and talk through stone, edges, seams and sinks.
We help you choose a slab at local stone yards, plan the layout and give you an itemized written estimate with options.
Once cabinets are set and level, we template the real room, confirm cutouts and seams and send the plan to fabrication.
The stone is cut and polished, old counters are removed and the new granite is carried in, set, seamed and sealed.
We walk the finished counters with you, explain care, run the water test and leave the space clean.
After the cabinets are installed and level, and before the stone is cut.
Yes, ideally, so you can confirm layout, seams and cutouts.
Yes, or the exact model number, so the cutout is right.
Fabrication takes days to a couple of weeks depending on workload and stone. We give a schedule.
Usually the old tops are removed first so the template is true to the cabinets.
